After successfully opening up the 2023 season with a win in New England, the Eagles return to Lincoln Financial Field for their one national appearance on Amazon Prime.
In a rematch of a Week 2 Monday night beatdown in 2022, Philadelphia will host the 0-1 Vikings in the 8:15 PM kickoff.
Buy Eagles TicketsMinnesota will be without center Garrett Bradbury, while the Eagles will be without linebacker Nakobe Dean (on Injured Reserve, foot), cornerback James Bradberry (concussion), safety Reed Blankenship (ribs), and running back Kenneth Gainwell.
With kickoff fast approaching, here are three keys for the Philadelphia offense.
Unleash D'Andre Swift
Swift was acquired via trade on the final day of the NFL draft, and his dual-threat presence was hyped all summer long.
In the season opener, Swift’s debut was a dud, as the running back was limited to 18 total plays, zero carries, and one catch for zero yards.
Head coach Nick Sirianni made it clear that Swift was priority in Philadelphia, and it’ll be on Brian Johnson to scheme the running back into routes in the slot, out of the backfield, and in open space.
Stout offensive line play
Game one was the preseason finale for the Eagles offensive, and after working out the kinks, look for Jeff Stoutland’s group to perform better in Week 2.
Philadelphia goes as the offensive line performs, and Nick Sirianni needs his top-ranked group to dominate in front of a raucous home crowd.
Free Dallas Goedert
Goedert is among the best in the NFL at yards per catch and yards after the catch, yet he mysteriously went most of the season opener without a target and finished with zero catches.
Brian Johnson has to get his talented tight end involved and Goedert’s success opens up the Eagles offense even more.
