3 former Cardinals land coaching fellowship with Buccaneers, Todd Bowles

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a ton of familiar faces on their coaching staff, as much of the staff was on the coaching staff for the Arizona Cardinals while Bruce Arians was head coach. There are now more familiar faces.

Bruce Arians retired earlier in the offseason and Todd Bowles, the Bucs’ defensive coordinator and former DC for Arians in Arizona, was named head coach.

According to Bucs Wire managing editor Luke Easterling, the Bucs announced they will have four caching fellows helping the team during training camp through the team’s Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. Three players named are former Cardinals who played while Arians and Bowles were coaches in Arizona.

The three former Cardinals are Brittan Golden, who spent time in Arizona from 2013-2017 as a receiver, Rashad Johnson, a former Cardinals third-round pick who played seven seasons for the team from 2009-2016, and Kerry Taylor, who played receiver for the Cardinals in 2012-2013. Taylor played high school ball in Chandler, played collegiately at Arizona State and has been a high school coach in the Phoenix area for years.

It is great to see more former Cardinals getting an opportunity to get into the NFL in coaching circles. It is no surprise that it is happening with the Buccaneers with Arians’ influence continuing in his new role with the organization following his retirement from coaching.
