Send a specific thank-you email within 24 hours
The generic "thank you for your time" email does nothing. Every candidate sends it. The one that gets read twice is the email that references something specific from the conversation, a challenge the interviewer mentioned, a project detail they seemed proud of, a question they asked that you've since thought more about.
