‘72 Hours’ (2026)
Comedy fans will want to stream “72 Hours” this weekend, an R-rated flick starring Kevin Hart as a man who finds himself caught up in a series of increasingly silly situations. The film is directed by Tim Story, marking the eighth collaboration between Hart and Story after the duo previously found box-office success together with the “Ride Along” and “Think Like a Man” franchises. It’s a fast-paced summer comedy about a midlife crisis and clashes between different generations.
Joe (Kevin Hart) is a 40-year-old advertising executive whose career is on the verge of collapse after he struggles to connect with a younger generation of consumers. ‘Wicked: For Good’ (2025)
“Wicked: For Good” is the cinematic conclusion to Universal’s two-part musical adaptation. Directed once again by Jon M. Chu, the film became another major commercial success for the studio, bringing the huge event to a close with impressive box-office numbers and strong fan engagement. It exploded out of the gate in November 2025, earning a massive $150 million domestically during its opening weekend and $226 million worldwide. This set the record for the biggest domestic debut ever for a Broadway musical adaptation.
Set after the events of the first film, “Wicked: For Good” follows Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) as she lives in hiding after being branded the Wicked Witch of the West. Determined to expose the Wizard’s deception and protect Oz’s persecuted Animals, she continues her fight while avoiding capture. Meanwhile, Glinda (Ariana Grande) has become the celebrated face of the Emerald City, serving the Wizard’s regime as her growing fame masks deep personal conflict. Soon, a mysterious girl from Kansas arrives in Oz, and a furious mob closes in on Elphaba.

‘Scream’ (1996)
We might still be in summer, but that doesn’t mean Halloween-loving horror fans aren’t already looking ahead to spooky season. Netflix has made that excitement arrive early by adding the first three “Scream” films to its library. I’d recommend starting with the original film, where it all began, as it helped revive the slasher genre in the late ‘90s. Beyond its jump scares, “Scream” changed horror filmmaking with its self-aware, pop-culture-obsessed approach.
“Scream” follows Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), a high school student in the quiet town of Woodsboro, who becomes the target of a mysterious masked killer known as Ghostface after a series of brutal murders begin taking place. They soon find themselves surrounded by suspicion as the killer continues to strike while leaving behind cryptic phone calls and clues.
