It’s an intriguing paradox: to protect the valuable comics that we cherish, we can’t even touch them. It’s a hard reality. Valuable comics must be put in a slab to protect them and their value. The cost of protecting our most valuable collectibles is that we can’t even touch them to read them; collectors buy facsimiles to read and enjoy them. Still, we also want to show them off. Some comic books have more sentimental value than investment value. It is probably why the best comic book binders were created as a product to serve this dual purpose.
