NEW DELHI: Skipper Rohit Sharma, who injured his left thumb and index finger while attempting a catch at second slip during fielding, exhibited a great character and courage on Wednesday as another edge of the seat thriller saw Bangladesh beat India by 5 runs, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.
Rohit, who left the field after the injury, came back to bat at No. 9 position but couldn't take India home despite playing a breezy 28-ball 51-run unbeaten knock against Bangladesh in the second ODI at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Rohit hit three fours and five sixes in his fiery knock.
