2HD general manager Guy Ashford has reportedly "finished his employment" after an alleged incident at the Australian Audio Awards ceremony.
The Newcastle Herald has seen what appears to be an email from Super Radio Network (SRN) chief executive Graham Mott to Newcastle staff confirming Mr Ashford's role had ended.
"Guy Ashford has finished his employment as general manager of 2HD and NEW FM," the email said.
"We wish him well for the future.
"We will immediately commence a search for a general manager to lead our Newcastle operation."
Mediaweek reported that Mr Mott had responded "yes, he's gone" to a question about Mr Ashford's apparent termination.
The Herald contacted SRN for comment.
The end of Mr Ashford's employment came after footage circulated of him allegedly groping presenter Cheralyn Darcey after she went on stage to receive her "best newcomer" award for her show The Nightline on May 28.
Mr Ashford was then captured raising his arms into the air as members of the crowd gasped in an incident that has drawn outrage from witnesses.
"The real story here is about an extraordinary woman who has spent years breaking barriers, working harder than most people realise, achieving success against the odds, and too often being overlooked in the process," one onlooker said.
"Now, after finally receiving industry recognition on a national stage, she can't even fully enjoy the achievement because of the way she was treated."
SRN, which owns 2HD, confirmed last week that Mr Ashford had been stood down while the matter was addressed.
