TransPennine Express have cancelled 29 trains and altered 18 more due to "higher than normal" sickness levels.
The train company were forced to cancel and alter a number of services due to the impact of higher-than-normal sickness levels and a training backlog as a direct result of covid. The team at the rail provider have announced they will be cancelling a total of 29 trains on Friday, December 9 across a number of different lines.
A spokesperson for the company said: "Usually, we will make these changes the day before to give customers as much notice as possible. In some cases, we will try to do this several days before if there is a significant change to the normal timetable.
