PATNA: The state on Sunday witnessed a slight decrease in number of Covid cases with 289 people testing positive for the virus against 1,06,747 samples tested. Altogether 305 people recovered from the virus in the state in the last 24 hours.
The virus claimed the life of one more person on Sunday. With this, the state’s Covid toll has increased to 12,280. Bihar stood at 18th position among the states and union territories in the country in terms of number of daily Covid cases on Sunday. Altogether 50 Covid patients were undergoing treatment at different health facilities in the state on Sunday including 32 at dedicated Covid hospitals and 18 at private hospitals, according to a health department bulletin.
Of 289 fresh Covid cases, Patna accounted for 102, Saharsa 37, Supaul 21, Araria 20, Gaya 15, Rohtas 12 and Bhagalpur 10. The state had 2,305 active Covid cases on Sunday with Patna alone accounting for 1,160, followed by Supaul (127), Bhagalpur (124), Muzaffarpur (97), Saharsa (89), Araria (76), Gaya (64) and Munger (59)
