Long standing proposals for a 28-home development near Bridgend have once again been deferred by Bridgend Council this month following the local authority's monthly development control committee meeting.
The plans that could see houses build on land east of Cwm Felin and south of Craig Terrace near Blackmill, have been with the council in various iterations since 2017.

Among them, proposals to build 36 dwellings were initially denied due to issues with the visual impact of a proposed acoustic fence designed to mitigate any potential noise from neighbouring factories. The development was also deemed as having, "an unacceptably high density, evidenced by a deficiency in parking provision and a lack of private amenity space."
However, developers at Barratt Homes South Wales Ltd have since submitted a revised proposal to construct 28 affordable homes on the vacant land which members will now be asked to consider.
These latest proposals would include a mixture of 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom dwellings along with 1- bedroom flats, six of which would be recommended to be reserved as affordable housing. All properties are described as being two storeys high with an architectural style that reflects the adjacent housing on Cwm Felin.
Barratt homes said it had also engaged with the local planning authority and made changes to the layout of the site which would mitigate the acoustic issues, as well as allowing for more space between properties and increased parking through the reduction of properties at the site.
While the plans were meant to be discussed at a meeting on May 4, they were once again deferred after it was noted that a "key neighbour" had not yet been consulted over the latest version of the proposals.
