25 Years On, Martha Stewart’s Maine Pantry Reveals a Masterclass in Elevated Storage Design, Clever Organization, and Life-Easing Ideas

Martha Stewart.

I'm always looking for ways to make my life easy at home. Whether it be a solution for storing my endless shoe collection or a useful decluttering tip for my kitchen countertops, I love a quick fix that can make your space feel not only neat but well-designed.

While I like to think my kitchen cabinets are pretty tidy, I've never doubted my storage ideas more after seeing Martha Stewart's rather impressive pantry located in her Maine home.

Showcasing some of the best pantry organization ideas I've ever seen, Martha's larder is impressively well-thought-out. Featuring meticulously designed wooden cabinets that hold shelves of fine china, the seemingly simple cupboards are filled with clever ideas that let Martha's (impressive) collection of tableware shine in all its glory.

Shop the Look

Martha's pantry is any host's dream. Featuring clever storage solutions that aid without compromising style, it's a lesson in designing with practicality at the forefront. While the cabinetry is the bones that hold the space together, the beautiful tableware transforms an all-wood pantry into a sight for sore eyes.

Located in the 1925 Duncan Candler house, purchased by Martha in Maine over twenty-five years ago, the pantry has truly stood the test of time. It doesn't feel dated at all; it's still inspiring me today.

Cleverly fitted with wooden cabinets, the pantry's success can be put down to its well-designed storage. Wooden doors make up the upper layer of cupboards, hiding unsightly utensils or cookware from view, while the cabinets underneath feature glass panelling, allowing the delicate china to be enjoyed and easily accessed when required.

Fitted with nifty bolt fastenings that ensure no pieces will slip out and break, there are plenty of details to admire. Even the teacups have their own dedicated area. Delicately hanging from hooks, they're beautifully showcased.

There's even a hidden shelf underneath the cupboards for smaller plates, tucked away from sight but easy to access when needed.

Martha's pantry is masterfully designed. Featuring clever built-in storage and an array of thoughtful details, there are plenty of ideas you can pull from her iconic space and use in any room in your home.
