A coalition of 25 states has launched a lawsuit against the Trump administration, contending its most recent tariffs are a mere pretext to reinstate import taxes previously struck down by the Supreme Court in February.
Last month, the United States imposed double-digit tariffs on 59 countries and the European Union, citing their alleged failure to adequately address imports produced by forced labor. These new tariffs came into effect precisely as temporary tariffs, which President Donald Trump had implemented following the Supreme Court's defeat, expired.
