There were 11 more Covid-19 fatalities and 242 new patients admitted to hospitals on Sunday, the Ministry of Public Health reported on Monday.
This compared with 12 coronavirus-related fatalities and 477 patients on Saturday, as reported on Sunday.
As of midnight Sunday, a total of 8,349 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (down from 9,223 the previous day), including 5,953 in hospitals (down from 5,998). Of the remainder, 65 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (down from 73) and 2,326 in home/community isolation (down from 3,148).
Of those in hospitals, 650 were seriously ill with lung inflammation (down from 651) and 328 dependent on ventilators (down from 333).
As of Monday, the daily averages over a 14-day period were - 242 new patients, down from 1,698 as of Sept 6 figures; 650 seriously ill patients, down from 731; 328 dependent on ventilators, down from 350; and 16 coronavirus-related deaths, down from 26.
The 24-hour period also saw 1,105 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
All 242 new patients over the past 24 hours were local cases.
The 11 people who died were aged from 36 to 90 years and included an Italian national.
Bangkok logged three new deaths while there was one in the adjacent province of Samut Prakan.
Other central plains provinces further from the capital reported four - in Lop Buri (3) and Uthai Thani (1).
The North reported no new coronavirus-related deaths.
The Northeast had two more deaths, in Surin and Kalasin, while the South reported one death, in Phuket.
From Sept 11 to 17, antigen tests returned positive for Covid-19 for 13,709 people daily on average.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,673,629 Covid-19 cases, including 2,450,194 this year, with 4,632,640 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 32,640 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 10,942 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 286,688 in 24 hours to 617.20 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 549 to 6.53 million.
The United States had the most cases at 97.51 million, up 7,065, and the most deaths at 1.08 million, up seven.
