The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms on Sunday that affects Leeds.
The warning covers all of England and Wales apart from the Lake District, and lasts the entire day on June 18. It follows over a week of hot and dry weather in a heatwave across the country.
Forecasters have warned to expect disruption from thunderstorms and heavy rain throughout Sunday. Temperatures are still likely to hit the low 20s on Sunday in the city.

The Met Office warns to expect:
- Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
- There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds
- Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
- There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost
- There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads
In Leeds, the rain is set to start from the later afternoon on Sunday and last through to the early hours of Monday. The Met office warns it will feel increasingly humid with possible "torrential downpours".
