Liverpool is getting into the festive spirit as the city lights up for Christmas.
Christmas lights have now been switched on at Liverpool ONE following a spectacular launch night party that saw the retail and leisure destination unveil its brand-new tree. The rest of Liverpool's lights will be switched on in stages, with the city to be fully illuminated by November 17.
Liverpool city centre's lights have now been switched on and the decorations unveiled. The traditional Christmas tree on Church Street is set to be lit up from November 24.

The walk through Christmas tree on Old Hall Street has returned, with a Star Pixel tree in Williamson Square. The trees along Church Street, Lord Street, Old Hall Street and Derby Square are decorated with baubles.
Jennina O'Neill, chair of the retail and leisure BID and centre manager at Metquarter, said: "The run up to Christmas makes up half of the annual trading for retail and hospitality sectors, so it is a critical time of the year for the local economy. At Liverpool BID, we recognise the importance of investing to make the city feel full of the seasonal spirit as we countdown to Christmas."
