There were 70 more Covid-19 fatalities and 23,945 confirmed new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry reported on Wednesday morning.
The figures did not include 24,059 positive results from antigen tests over the past 24 hours. This would raise the total to 48,004.
The latest 70 fatalities were between the ages of 1 and 98 years and included two foreigners, from the UK and Myanmar. Twenty-one of them had renal disease.
There were 23,742 new cases in the general population, 155 among prison inmates and 48 imported cases.
The 48 imported cases came from 27 countries and included four each from Singapore and Cambodia and three each from Myanmar, Australia, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 1.68 million in 24 hours to 462.01 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 5,277 to 6.07 million.
Over the past seven days, South Korea had the most cases of 2.36 million, followed by Germany with 1.42 million cases, Vietnam with 1.21 million cases and France with 484,743 cases.
