22 dead in Pakistan amid protests following assassination of Ali Khamenei

  • At least 10 people were killed and 120 injured as protesters attempted to storm the American consulate in Karachi, Pakistan, following the assassination of Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei.
  • Further clashes in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan region resulted in 12 deaths and 80 injuries, while protests also erupted in Iraq and India, including Kashmir and Delhi, against the US-Israeli strikes.
  • Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian condemned the assassination as “a great crime” with Iran vowing “its most intense offensive operation” in retaliation.
  • Iran launched missiles and drones at Israel and American military facilities across several Middle Eastern countries, though Israel reported intercepting many.
  • Thailand is preparing to evacuate approximately 110,000 citizens from the Middle East due to escalating conflict, which has also disrupted flights across the Gulf.
