The final tournament of 2026 PGA Tour season, the Tour Championship, is set to take place at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, with the FedExCup title on the line. The tournament runs from Thursday, Aug. 27, through Sunday, Aug. 30, with a $40 million purse and $10 million going to the winner. Unlike the previous format, all 30 players begin the tournament at even par, meaning the FedExCup champion will be determined by the 72-hole result at East Lake.
Scottie Scheffler leads the FedExCup field
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler enters the Tour Championship as the No. 1 player in the FedExCup standings for the fifth consecutive season. He is seeking his second FedExCup title after winning the championship in 2024.
Scheffler has also been dealing with illness but is expected to compete at East Lake. He enters the tournament as the favorite and will play alongside Matt Fitzpatrick, the No. 2 player in the FedExCup standings, in the final pairing of the opening round.

Clark will tee off with Cameron Young at 1:48 p.m. ET, while defending champion Tommy Fleetwood is paired with Ludvig Åberg at 1:12 p.m.
Rory McIlroy chasing a fourth FedExCup title
Rory McIlroy enters the 2026 Tour Championship with a chance to make FedExCup history. The Northern Irish star is the only three-time FedExCup champion and is looking to become the first player to win the title four times.
McIlroy is ranked No. 11 in the FedExCup standings and will open the tournament alongside Xander Schauffele, who is No. 12. Their first-round tee time is scheduled for 12:54 p.m. ET on Thursday.
McIlroy has one victory this season, but it came at the Masters, giving him another major championship to add to his career résumé.
