Warning as scientists find this year was one of the three hottest on record

Human-induced climate change has pushed global temperatures to a critical new level, with 2025 confirmed as one of the three hottest years on record, scientists have announced.

For the first time, the three-year average temperature has now surpassed the crucial 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 Fahrenheit) warming limit above pre-industrial levels, a key threshold set by the 2015 Paris Agreement.
