The NFL has a quarterback problem. There just aren’t enough good ones and injuries just make things worse. The teams with high-level quarterback play are separating themselves from the rest of the league and making it clear if you don’t have a quarterback, you’d better go get one.
Fortunately, the 2024 NFL draft is packed with quality quarterbacks the likes of which we haven’t seen in many years. We’ve updated our two-round mock draft just in time for Thanksgiving and when it comes to handing out quarterbacks, we didn’t hold back.
1 - Chicago Bears - WR Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State
With Justin Fields back and getting on track, adding the best weapon in the draft for him is an easy decision.
2 - Arizona Cardinals - QB Drake Maye, North Carolina
We almost passed on a quarterback here because Kyler Murray is back but we still think the Cardinals will move on after the season.
3 - New England Patriots - QB Caleb Williams, USC
We can’t imagine the Patriots quarterback situation sorting itself out to a point where New England can pass on Caleb Williams.
4 - Chicago Bears - DT Jer'Zhan Newton, Illinois
Passing on a quarterback here, the Bears can take disruptive interior pass rusher Jer’Zhan Newton to bolster the defense.
5 - New York Giants - OT Olu Fashanu, Penn State
The Giants are another team that could contemplate a quarterback but instead opt for the top offensive tackle in the draft instead.
6 - Tennessee Titans - WR Malik Nabers, LSU
If Will Levis is the future, get him an elite young receiving threat like Malik Nabers.
7 - Washington Commanders - EDGE Laiatu Latu, UCLA
The Commanders could be in dire need of pass rushers next season and Latu is one of the best.
8 - Atlanta Falcons - QB Bo Nix, Oregon
The Falcons gave Desmond Ridder a fair shot but Bo Nix is a massive upgrade.
9 - Green Bay Packers - OT Joe Alt, Notre Dame
The Packers can use an upgrade on the offensive line and Joe Alt is a tremendous prospect with his experience and polished technique.
10 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers - TE Brock Bowers, Georgia
Bowers is too good to fall any further and the Bucs can use his unique skillset.
11 - New York Jets - WR Rome Odunze, Washington
We are banking on Aaron Rodgers making a healthy return next season and so we get him another big-play threat at receiver.
12 - Los Angeles Chargers - CB Kool-Aid McKinstry, Alabama
The Chargers don’t have any huge needs but getting a lockdown No. 1 cornerback is a great option in the first round.
13 - Los Angeles Rams - CB Nate Wiggins, Clemson
Los Angeles has a strong offense but the defensive secondary could use a playmaker like Wiggins.
14 - Las Vegas Raiders - QB Michael Penix Jr., Washington
The Raiders would be very fortunate if a talent like Penix falls into their laps in the first round.
15 - Indianapolis Colts - WR Keon Coleman, Florida State
The Colts have their franchise quarterback and this pick gets him a No. 1 receiver to throw to.
16 - Denver Broncos - EDGE Jared Verse, Florida State
There’s no reason a pass rusher like Jared Verse would fall this far but the Broncos won’t hesitate to pick him to add some punch on defense.
17 - Cincinnati Bengals - OT Tailese Fuaga, Oregon State
The Bengals could lose their starting left tackle in the offseason and Fuaga is plug and play as a starter.
18 - Buffalo Bills - OT JC Latham, Alabama
JC Latham looks like the next great Alabama offensive tackle and an immediate starter for the Bills.
19 - New Orleans Saints - EDGE Chop Robinson, Penn State
We’d like to see more consistency from Chop Robinson but there’s no doubt when he’s on he is an elite pass rusher.
20 - Minnesota Vikings - EDGE Dallas Turner, Alabama
We were tempted to give the Vikings a quarterback here but opted for a better value pick here in Dallas Turner.
21 - Arizona Cardinals - DB Cooper DeJean, Iowa
Assuming DeJean is healthy by the start of the season, this pick is a bargain for the Cardinals.
22 - Seattle Seahawks - EDGE Bralen Trice, Washington
The Seahawks don’t have to look far to find a strongside edge rusher who can step up and stuff the run.
23 - Pittsburgh Steelers - CB Terrion Arnold, Alabama
Cornerback will be a huge need for the Steelers next season and Terrion Arnold has proven himself to be an NFL starter.
24 - Houston Texans - DL Leonard Taylor III, Miami
The Texans have built an explosive offense so we opt for a huge defensive playmaker here in Leonard Taylor.
25 - Miami Dolphins - OT Amarius Mims, Georgia
The Dolphins don’t need much but a powerful, smart run blocking offensive tackle is a nice luxury pick here.
26 - Dallas Cowboys - CB Kalen King, Penn State
Dallas is a team whose top needs aren’t really valued in the first round this year so we go with the best-available player on defense here instead.
27 - San Francisco 49ers - OT Graham Barton, Duke
With Barton’s size and high football IQ, we like him as a starting offensive tackle or possible move to an athletic guard in the NFL.
28 - Jacksonville Jaguars - S Kamren Kinchens, Miami
29 - Baltimore Ravens - WR Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State
The Ravens always need to find more guys for Lamar Jackson to throw to and Emeka Egbuka is a solid all-around receiver with no real weaknesses.
30 - Detroit Lions - CB Josh Newton, TCU
The Lions love physical defenders and Josh Newton is one of the most physical corners in the draft.
31 - Kansas City Chiefs - WR Adonai Mitchell, Texas
The Chiefs need a deep threat to pair up with Travis Kelce and Adonai Mitchell has elite deep speed.
32 - Philadelphia Eagles - S Tyler Nubin, Minnesota
The Eagles don’t have a lot of holes on their roster but adding a big, paymaking free safety makes a lot of sense here. Don’t rule out a wide receiver if one falls.
