2024 Creative Arts Emmys Winners List: Shogun, The Bear and Only Murders In The Building take the lead

The 2024 Creative Arts Emmys saw a weekend of celebration as winners across 99 categories were revealed in ceremonies held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The standout of the event was the epic drama series Shōgun, which made history by securing 14 awards, the most ever won by a single drama series in one season. Additionally, the series' companion film The Making of Shōgun earned another trophy, further cementing its dominance. This achievement surpasses the previous record held by the miniseries John Adams.

Alongside Shōgun, other notable winners included The Bear, Saturday Night Live, and Only Murders in the Building, each earning multiple accolades over the two-night event.

While much of the weekend’s focus was on the behind-the-scenes brilliance in categories such as directing, editing, casting, and production design, there were also key recognitions for on-screen talent. Jamie Lee Curtis and Jon Bernthal were awarded Outstanding Guest Actress and Actor in a Comedy Series, respectively, for their roles in The Bear's acclaimed episode "Fishes". Meanwhile, Néstor Carbonell took home Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in Shōgun, and Michaela Coel earned Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role in Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Other highlights of the weekend included songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul joining the exclusive EGOT club with a win for Best Original Music and Lyrics for Only Murders in the Building’s song "Which of the Pickwick Triplets Did It?". Pat Sajak claimed Best Host for a Game Show in his final season on Wheel of Fortune, while Alan Cumming broke RuPaul's eight-year streak by winning Best Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program.

First-time Emmy wins went to Angela Bassett (Outstanding Narrator), Eric André (Best Performer in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series), and producers Sandra Oh and Awkwafina, whose film Quiz Lady won Best Television Movie.
