We’ve known for months that General Motors was working on hybrid versions of the Chevrolet Corvette, but now we have official confirmation not only that are they being developed, but also when the first will be launched. GM just released a short teaser video showing an all-wheel drive hybrid Corvette launching in slow motion and going sideways on snow, confirming it will arrive early in 2023.
Older rumors suggested that it could be a plug-in hybrid with as much as 1,000 horsepower. However, it looks like there could be two hybrid models: the one teased in this video and another much more powerful one that may be called Zora.
Chevrolet didn't say how much power this new hybrid will have, but it is believed it could have around 650 horsepower, more than the Z06, but less than the ZR1. However, because it has all-wheel drive and electric boost, it should be quicker to sprint than the ZR1 (which hits sixty in about 2.5 seconds).
