The No. 16 Notre Dame Fighting Irish will meet the No. 19 Oregon State Beavers in the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl on Friday afternoon. This has been a matchup that has been nearly two decades in the making.
The Fighting Irish are heading into the Sun Bowl with several key changes in store. Perhaps the most significant of these changes is the introduction of a new starting quarterback in Steve Angeli, Sam Hartman is out. They will also be missing both their right and left tackles, who are going pro.
Meanwhile, Oregon State finds themselves facing a different set of challenges. The Beavers came close to an undefeated season, but two late-season losses to Washington and Oregon served as setbacks, resulting in a fourth-place finish in the Pac-12. They also lost DJ Uiagalelei to the transfer portal and will go with redshirt sophomore Ben Gulbranson.
