The 2022 NFL Draft’s class of quarterbacks isn’t a prolific one. It’s unlikely to produce any headline-generating Week 1 wins or engineer any fast-tracked rebuilds. It’s not that there isn’t a Joe Burrow or Andrew Luck at the top of this class; it’s that there may not be a Baker Mayfield.
But there’s plenty of intrigue in this year’s talented — but flawed — crop of signal callers. The quarterbacks in this draft are a mix of established and explosive. Positional value could lead to a run on passers early. A deep group of players with NFL traits could mean someone finds a bargain late.
Three big questions could define this group. Will Kenny Pickett or Malik Willis be the first quarterback selected? Will the third passer off the board be Matt Corral or Desmond Ridder? And will any of them be the engine for a franchise lost at sea this fall?
