Daniel Levy and Tottenham Hotspur director of football Fabio Paratici have been told the criteria that Liverpool must meet in order to sign Son Heung-min. The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Anfield lately, and Spurs fans have had their say on the matter.
Jurgen Klopp's side were considering a bid for the South Korea international this summer had the north London outfit not finished in the top four, football.london understand. The German is a long-standing admirer of the forward, who went toe-to-toe with Mohamed Salah for the Premier League golden boot this season.
With Sadio Mane set to leave Liverpool this summer and Salah yet to renew his deal in Merseyside, football.london understand that there had been discussions at Anfield about testing Tottenham's financial resolve with a big money move for Son if Antonio Conte had failed to secure Champions League qualification.

Though, it's not to say that Spurs would have necessarily entertained talks, let alone a bid, for a player who has been central to much of the north London side's success in recent years. Nevertheless, Tottenham fans threw their hat in the ring and reacted to Liverpool's swoop for Son.
The overwhelming response to the news was that under no circumstances would Son have entertained the Reds' interest due to his loyalty to the Spurs.
A selection of supporters also pointed out Son and Klopp's seemingly close relationship as a potential factor in a deal.
And, one fan on Twitter even suggested that Levy should pull out the Harry Kane trick and demand £200million for Son's services in a bid to ward off interest.
However, while Son has been linked with a move away, Spurs have been eager to reinforce this summer oppose to offload. The Telegraph claim that Conte wants as many as six arrivals this window; a centre-back, a right wing-back, two midfielders, a forward and a backup goalkeeper.
The Spurs boss told Sky Sport Italia in February: "Four players left in January. Four important players for Tottenham, two have arrived. So even numerically instead of strengthening you may have, on paper, weakened."
In April, though, the Italian boss appeared to dial things back a little, stressing the impact of the two new signings. Conte said: “I said that with these two players, despite that we lost four players in January, with these two new signings we made this squad more complete, with more balance.
"I think that it’s very important in football to have a clear idea and to have a good vision. Because in this way, the situation is more simple."
