Over 20 Omani startups presented their projects for a group of venture capital funds, Saudi investors, and crowdfunding platforms aiming to conclude investment deals and enhance competitiveness.
The event was hosted by Saudi Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monshaat), with the participation of the Saudi-Omani Business Council, the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and the Omani Authority for SME Development.
The event aimed to increase Saudi investments in Omani startups, facilitate easy access of the investing companies to various entities, and support the growth of companies based on innovation and technology.
Startup owners gave a brief presentation about their projects and business plan, aiming to convince investors to pump money into their companies, which could help expand their commercial activities to other markets.
Through this event, Monshaat aimed to open new horizons for entrepreneurship in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, access investment opportunities, and benefit from the successful experiences of other companies in various countries.
They also aimed to exchange expertise to develop the sector further, discuss its challenges, identify available funding opportunities, provide suitable solutions to meet the challenges, promote innovation, and boost economic development.
