Up to £20,000 has been offered to anyone who can help solve the mystery of what happened to a pensioner whose body was found in a freezer.
Builders discovered the remains of Roy Bigg on October 15, 2021, in the basement of what used to be Simpson’s Wine Bar in Forest Gate, east London.
Mr Bigg, who is believed to have been aged about 70 when he died, went missing in February 2012 – when he would have been 67.
The Metropolitan Police released an image of Mr Bigg in 2022 but have not been able to determine what happened to him yet.
A post-mortem examination was inconclusive.
Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen said: “It’s now been more than two years since Roy was found. Although our investigation and previous media appeals have provided us with information about Roy’s life, we still need your help to identify who is responsible.
“Where was he between 2012 and 2021? To date, there have been no confirmed sightings of him in this nine-year period. Can you help?
“Anything you can tell us may prove invaluable in helping us discover what happened.”
Mt Bigg's first cousin Frank Bousfield, in his 80s, previously told MailOnline it was "really shocking" to learn of his relative's death.
He said: "I would only have seen (Mr Bigg) when we made family visits as kids and teenagers. I don't think there's anyone left alive in the family who would remember much about him really - I've no idea what kind of job he went on to do."
