2 player connections in Cardinals-Cowboys matchup in Week 3, but neither likely to play

The Arizona Cardinals play the Dallas Cowboys Sunday afternoon at State Farm Stadium in Week 3. The two teams each have a player connection to the other team. The Cardinals have one former Cowboy and the Cowboys have a former Cardinal.

Neither is likely to play.

The former Cowboys player on Arizona’s roster is defensive lineman Carlos Watkins. He played for the Cowboys for two seasons before signing with the Cardinals.

However, he injured his biceps and will have surgery. He will be placed on injured reserve this week and will not face his former team.

For the Cowboys, the one player they have who played for the Cardinals is offensive lineman Sean Harlow. He is on the practice squad. He could be elevated for the game but he has not played yet this season.
