2 Fox News journalists killed, another injured as Russian fire hits vehicle

Two journalists associated with Fox News have been killed – after their vehicle came under firing – outside Kyiv, the Associated Press reported. The incident also left a third Fox News reporter, Benjamin Hall, hospitalised.

In a staff memo on Tuesday, Fox News said video journalist Pierre Zakrzewski, 55, and Ukrainian journalist Oleksandra Kuvshynova, 24, were traveling in Horenka on Monday when the incident took place. “Today is a heartbreaking day for Fox News Media and for all journalists risking their lives to deliver the news,” said the network’s CEO Suzanne Scott.

According to Associated Press, Zakrzewski was based in London and had covered several conflicts, including Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria. Kuvshynova was a consultant with Fox, helping crews navigate the Kyiv area.

The incident comes a day after the death of documentary filmmaker Brent Renaud, whose vehicle was also fired upon by Russian forces.
