SEVEN people have been rushed to hospital following a crash on a major trunk road.
The three-vehicle collision took place shortly before 7am on Wednesday, on the A96 north of Huntly.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, including three fire appliances.
STV News reports that fire crews were seen using equipment to cut away at the vehicles.
Two people were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by air ambulance, while three others were transported there.
Two more patients were taken to Dr Gray's Hospital in Elgin.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 6.54am to attend a three-car road traffic collision on the A96, north of Huntly.
“Five ambulances, an air ambulance and two special operations response teams (SORT) were dispatched to the scene.
“Five patients were transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary – two by air ambulance – and two patients were transported to Dr Gray’s Hospital.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The A96 is closed in both directions at Huntly due to a crash which officers were called to around 6.55am on Wednesday, 9 September, 2026.
"Motorists are advised to use another route."
As of 9.43am, the A96 at Huntly remains closed in both directions, with a diversion put in place.
