2 ACP-level officers to remove encroachments in Panchkula

PANCHKULA: Two ACP-level officers have been appointed to remove illegal encroachments from the area where the MC and HUDA officials conducted anti encroachment drive in Panchkula. The officials will also ensure that encroachments do not come up again in areas where the anti-encroachment drive was conducted.

During the meeting with Panchkula administration and resident welfare associations at PWD Guest House in Sector 1, speaker Gian Chand Gupta took suggestions from residents on curbing pollution and checking drugs. A special number was shared with people to share drug-related information.

Speaker Gupta asked the two ACP-level officers to take action against police post in-charges and junior engineer (JE) concerned if encroachments were found in their area after the anti-encroachment drive. Joint MC commissioner Sanyam Garg shared report of anti-encroachment drives carried out in the city with both ACPs. Speaker Gupta also directed the MC, HUDA and police officials to make sectors 7, 9, 11 and 20 free of rehris and phadis.

A discussion was held on promoting cloth bags among residents. The speaker asked regional officer, Haryana Pollution Control Board to make a plan to clean Ghaggar river. Schools and college principals who participated in the meeting were directed to make children aware about the dangers of plastic.

Gupta asked MC officials to carry out a special 15-day drive to remove construction waste from the city and issue a warning to under construction sites to not create construction waste.

On making the city slum free, HUDA officials presented a report on the construction of 7,500 flats through PPP (Public Private Partnership) mode in 8.65 acres of land in Sector 20 and 12.5 acre of land in Sector 28 with a budget of Rs 877 crore.

ACP Raj Kumar, nodal officer against drugs also issued a "drug info line" and appealed to residents to provide information related to sale/purchase of drugs in their locality. Residents can send video, photos, texts to 708-708-1100.
