NEW DELHI: Australia's spinner Nathan Lyon took six wickets for 65 runs as they dismissed New Zealand for 196 in the second innings to register a thumping 172-run victory on the fourth day of the first Test at Wellington's Basin Reserve. This victory on Sunday gave Australia a 1-0 lead in the series.
New Zealand began the day at 111/3, needing to chase a challenging target of 369. However, Lyon quickly took the wicket of Rachin Ravindra for 59 and also removed Tom Blundell and Glenn Phillips within the first hour, completing his 24th five-wicket haul in Test matches.
