PEDESTRIAN.TV has teamed up with Paramount Pictures Australia to celebrate the release of Smile 2, exclusive to cinemas from October 17.
Calling all horror fans: Smile 2 is on its way and I can’t WAIT to pee my pants out of fear. The sequel is a hotly-anticipated follow-up to Smile, which featured a deadly curse in the form of an unnerving smile. To celebrate the release, we’re hosting a competition to give the franchise the hype it deserves!
ICYMI, the first movie explained the rules of the universe. If somebody locks eyes with you while smiling like a maniac, then does the unthinkable and ends it all, the curse is now firmly passed onto you. It’s so simple, but bloody (literally) effective, and the creepy smiles will haunt your dreams for weeks to come.
Smile 2 is about pop girlie Skye Riley, which raises the stakes to a whole new level. Could she pass the curse onto an entire arena of screaming fans? Or will she somehow find a way to break the curse? I reckon there’s plenty of Smile lore to be explored in this movie, as the first one left fans with a loooot of unanswered questions. I will be seated!
The cast includes Naomi Scott as the lead character, Kyle Gallner reprising his role as Joel from the first film, Lukas Gage, Rosemarie DeWitt, and even a lil’ cameo from queen Drew Barrymore herself.
For those horror-obsessed, this sounds like one you don’t want to miss. Lukas Gage, who plays Skye’s bestie, said he was “genuinely afraid” while filming on set.
“It’s so terrifying. It was the first time I’ve ever been on a set where I was genuinely afraid, and I actually got sick to my stomach in one take,” he told Jess Cagle on SiriusXM.
“If you love the first movie, you’re going to love this one… it was just so gory and so disgusting.”
