1994 Sega 32X gets first-person Backrooms game with raycasting engine — retro hardware tour de force includes yellow rooms, buzzing fluorescents, endless procedurally generated levels

Backrooms 32X.

Developer PaisleyBoxers has released Backrooms 32X, with the strap line “welcome to the cutting edge of 1994.” Yes, this is a Sega 32X game set in the Backrooms, the dingy, yellowing internet phenomenon given a huge boost with the release of the psychological horror indie film earlier this year.
