An 17-year-old suspect was arrested Friday in connection with the 2025 murder of Utah mother Jessica Lyman, 44, and her son Eli Painter, 8 - (Wing Mortuary)

A 17-year-old boy was arrested Friday in connection with the 2025 double murder of a Utah mother and her young son.

The teenager, whose identity has not been released because of his age, was booked into a juvenile detention center on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder, the Saratoga Springs Police Department said in a news release. It has not been determined whether he will be prosecuted as a juvenile or an adult.
