A yellow weather warning for ice has been issued for Nottinghamshire by the Met Office. The warning covers the vast majority of the county and runs from 6pm on Sunday, January 15 until 10am on Monday, January 16.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Icy surfaces are expected to develop following wintry showers leading to some difficult travelling conditions." The warning covers much of the north of England as well as the Midlands - there is a seperate warning for snow and ice for the northern parts of Scotland.

What to expect
- Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces
- Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
According to the Met Office, temperatures are expected to drop to around -3C overnight from Monday into Tuesday, January 17 with highs of just 3C throughout the day in Nottingham.
Forecasters said northerly winds will develop through Sunday and into Monday, bringing colder air across much of the country, The Mirror reports.
“This will affect northern areas initially on Sunday, before moving south to affect most areas during Monday.
“Showers will be more frequent in western areas and fewer in eastern areas, but becoming increasingly wintry for all areas through Monday.
“Occasionally strong winds will exacerbate the cold feel. These alerts may be updated on Monday once confidence has improved in the timing of the cold weather and areas to be included.”
