The reality of the universe and the definition of humanity are suddenly in question — again. In the third episode of Doctor Who Season 2 — “The Well” — the 15th Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) and Belinda (Varada Sethu) have returned to a familiar planet, first visited by the 10th Doctor (David Tennant) way back in the 2008 episode “Midnight.” But the details of that episode are oddly less impactful for the overall season-long arc. Instead, the bigger story for Who right now seems to be a bit of a reboot of a 2010 storyline from the 11th Doctor (Matt Smith) era.
Because throughout this episode, one mystery pervades all the other questions, and the surprise ending could indicate that there’s a mastermind behind the manipulation of the entire Who timeline.
