COIMBATORE: A Class IX boy student was arrested on Saturday for groping a lady doctor on Fourth Street, Gokulam Colony, at PN Pudur.
The Saibaba Colony police said the incident occurred when the 42-year-old siddha doctor went out for morning walk at Gokulam Colony. “Around 8.15am, the boy came there on a scooter and groped the woman, who was coming from the opposite direction. She raised an alarm and other walkers gave him a chase, but in vain,” a police officer said.
They immediately alerted the Saibaba Colony police, who initially thought the boy was attempting to snatch gold chain from the doctor. “After inquiry, we realized that the boy groped her intentionally,” the officer said.
The woman lodged a complaint with the Saibaba Colony police, who registered a case under Section 354(B) of the Indian Penal Code and collected CCTV footage from the locality. “We traced the boy with the help of the registration number of the scooter and arrested him the same evening,” the officer said.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that the boy, aged 15, was watching porn videos for the past four days. “We have produced him before the juvenile justice board and later lodged him in the observation home for juveniles,” the officer said.TNN
