If you grew up in Scotland, especially with Scottish parents or grandparents, there are a number of phrases and words you likely heard that have stuck with you for life.
However, that doesn't necessarily mean that they're as common as they were in decades past. What were once common expressions have fallen out of fashion as new slang takes their place.
