Before making Thursday's Autumn Statement Chancellor Jeremy Hunt warned he would be "Scrooge". And headlines in his hour-long speech made grim reading as he dealt with the fall-out from Kwasi Kwarteng's mini-budget eight weeks earlier under Liz Truss's leadership.
