The Tennessee Titans are set to play in a new stadium in downtown Nashville by 2027. The brazenly greedy project — for a place with a record number of public funding — seems pretty unnecessary for a stadium that isn’t even 25 years old.
Nonetheless, the city of Nashville will be giving its NFL team what it wants.
Recently, the Titans shared a detailed video revealing some early concept art for their future home stadium. Suffice it to say: There are very few distinguishing features for what looks like an extremely generic design.
And it’s a bit disappointing if you’re going to spend over $1.2 billion on it:

I’m … still not quite sure what that is? Because instead of building a standard football stadium with legitimate color and personality, it looks like the Titans have elected to go all in on darkness, blandness, and a boring overall motif. Sure seems like a waste of a Nashville aesthetic to me.
Fans on Twitter had a lot of creative jokes and ideas about what the Titans’ new stadium resembles.

An expensive, overgrown grocery store
Looks like an expensive, overgrown grocery store but at least our schools are well-funded and there are sidewalks everywhere in this city OH WAIT NO MY BAD https://t.co/pvHo6qKXE2

Oh, heck yeah. If the Titans weren’t playing there, this would be prime real estate for a giant Whole Foods.

The only difference between Walmart and a Titans home game is the low prices.
