The PGA Tour is heading into the business end of its regulation season, with the Rocket Classic the penultimate event before the FedEx Cup Playoffs.
There's a lot at stake at Detroit Golf Club and, with the top 70 advancing through to the Playoffs following the Wyndham Championship next week, players are looking to wrap up as many points and as much prize money as they can.
At the halfway stage of the Rocket Classic, Cameron Young, Patrick Cantlay and Patrick Fishburn share the lead at 10-under, while Matt Wallace and Rickie Fowler are just one back of the trio at nine-under.
Xander Schauffele is among eight players sharing sixth spot at eight-under, while a further seven players are seven-under-par in a tight and congested leaderboard.
Although we are set to have an exciting finish over the remaining two days, there will be some notable names missing from the proceedings over the weekend.
It wasn't just big-named players who failed to surpass the three-under-par cutline, but also individuals who are lurking around the required spots in the FedEx Cup standings.

Andrew Putnam (-2)
As of writing, Putnam is 71st in the FedEx Cup standings and, with a missed cut, will fall back of the top 70 places that make it through to the FedEx St. Jude Championship in two weeks time.
Carding rounds of 68 and 70, the American missed the cut by one at the Rocket Classic and will need a big week at the Wyndham Championship to crack the top 70.
Ben Griffin (-2)
Like Putnam, Griffin produced rounds of 68 and 70 to miss the cut at the Rocket Classic, his fifth of the 2026 season.
Parring every hole of his back nine on Friday, the former Ryder Cup player won't have to worry about missing the FedEx Cup Playoffs, as he is comfortably inside the top 70.
Jake Knapp (-2)
Knapp made a strong start to the year but, in April, he was blighted with an injury that meant two months away from the course.
Since returning, he has produced a best finish of T13th, but a missed cut at the Rocket Classic means four in six starts. He fired a three-under 67 on Thursday, but a one-over 71 on Friday led to a two-under score.
Tom Hoge (-1)
Currently, Hoge is 77th in the FedEx Cup standings and, with a missed cut this week, puts him in danger of missing the Playoffs.
Carding rounds of 70 and 69, the American has missed back-to-back weekends, as well as eight cuts in total through 2026.
Akshay Bhatia (-1)
The Arnold Palmer Invitational winner missed the cut at The Open Championship in his last start, meaning Bhatia has failed to make the weekend in back-to-back events.
Producing a two-under first round at the Rocket Classic, the 24-year-old would rue a triple bogey at his seventh hole on Friday, as well as a late bogey to be among seven players at one-under-par.
Chris Gotterup (+1)
Arguably the most surprising player to miss the cut was Gotterup, who carded an uncharacteristic three-over 73 on Friday to finish one-over for the tournament.
A three-time winner on the PGA Tour in 2026, the American hasn't missed a cut since the Genesis Invitational in February, which happens to be 14 events ago.
Denny McCarthy (+2)
McCarthy is 81st in the FedEx Cup standings and needed a big week at the Rocket Classic, but rounds of 69 and 73 means he will have it all to do at the Wyndham Championship.
Since 2022, McCarthy hasn't missed the Playoffs, but one top 10 and four missed cuts in 2026 means a good week is needed next week.
Aldrich Potgieter (+3)
The defending champion was unable to replicate his performance from last year, as Potgieter's first round of 76 meant an uphill battle to make the cut in Detroit.
Although he produced a three-under 67 on Friday, the South African was well back of the cutline, as he missed a 10th weekend of the season.
Wyndham Clark (+5)
Another big player to miss the cut at the Rocket Classic was US Open champion, Wyndham Clark.
A 71 and 74 meant the 32-year-old finished five-over-par for the tournament, as Clark made it back-to-back missed cuts having failed to make the weekend at The Open Championship.
Austin Smotherman (+12)
Sitting 75th in the FedEx Cup standings, Smotherman dented his chances of making the Playoffs via rounds of 77 and 75.
Missing his ninth cut of 2026, the American is projected to drop to 79th in the standings, but that can all change depending on the weekend action.
Brad Dalke (+16)
Dalke received a sponsor's invite into the Rocket Classic but, unlike the BMW International Open on the DP World Tour, the YouTube star was unable to make the cut.
Producing an 11-over-par opening round, a five-over 75 on Friday meant Dalke finished dead last in Detroit at 16-over-par.
