Chandigarh’s Parineeta Sheoran (48kg) and Loveleen Kaur (66kg) progressed to the semifinals of their respective weight categories, even as the day belonged to the Haryana women and Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) men with as many as 22 pugilists (11 each) sealing their spots in the last four stage of the 5th Youth National Boxing Championships in Chennai on Sunday.
However, it was curtains for reigning Asian Youth Champion Rohit Chamoli (51kg) from Chandigarh, after he suffered a shocking 0-5 defeat against Madhya Pradesh’s Anurag Kumar in the quarter-final bout.
