Nearly a dozen motorists were given fines outside a primary school in Edinburgh for ignoring local street restrictions during peak times.
Police say that 11 drivers "contravened" rules outside St Mary's Primary School in Leith by accessing a zone meant for pedestrians and cyclists only when the lights on multiple signs are flashing.
Officers from the police's north-east division posted their findings on Twitter and reminded parents to not enter Links Gardens when the lights are flashing on the sign.

They said: "@EdinPolNE officers have been enforcing the school streets restrictions at @st_marys_leith.
"Unfortunately 11 drivers contravened the prohibition and were issued conditional offers of fixed penalties. Do not enter if lights are flashing."
The tweet was accompanied by a close-up of the 'pedestrian and cycle zone' sign present on Links Gardens, just around the corner from the busy primary.
Elsewhere in the capital, local officers continued the crackdown on drivers by seizing multiple vehicles in Howdenhall recently. "Several" drivers were reportedly caught without insurance or a license in the area.
The division's south-east team uploaded images of three seized vehicles and reminded motorists the insurance is a legal requirement for any motor when on a public road.
They added: "HowdenhallTeam2 have been busy making sure your roads remain safe. Several vehicles have been seized because the driver had no insurance or licence. Insurance is a legal requirement for any motor vehicle when on a public road."
