Tammy and Amy Slaton, stars of 1000-lb Sisters, are reportedly fighting with producers of their TLC reality show in the hopes of earning higher salaries.
The family, who have previously opened up about their money struggles, are said to believe they could make more money if they left their current contract with the network.
36-year-old Tammy earns the most out of her family, but still only cashes in around $2000 to $3000 per episode (£1600 to £2500), according to reports.
A source close to the reality star has revealed that Tammy spent all of her earnings from the show paying for her 14-month stay at a food rehabilitation centre, after receiving no financial help from TLC.
Tammy had been spending time at the weight loss facility when she was put on was put on a ventilator and placed in a medically induced coma last year, with her loved ones told to prepare for the worst.
Despite her body "shutting down", she survived and was eventually well enough to return to the rehab centre.
Tammy and Amy's sister Amanda Halterman, who joined the cast during season three of 1000-lb Sisters, makes just $700 a month for appearing on the show.
35-year-old Amy manages to earn a little more thanks to her two sons — Gage, two, and Glenn, seven months — also having contracts.
However, the insider told The Sun that Amy has been putting her son's earnings into trust funds which will go towards their college tuition.
The source also said that Tammy's husband Caleb Willingham has signed a contract to appear on the next season of the show.
It has previously reported that Tammy is looking to make money away from her reality show by getting her own book deal.
According to a pal, she has been looking to the future and wants to tell-all about her side of the journey and raise awareness of body positivity.
Tammy has struggled with her finances in the past and last year lost her home because she couldn't afford the rent.
Tammy had been living with her sister Amy in a $239K duplex, but Amy moved out to buy a new home with her husband Michael Walterman and their two kids.
Tammy had the double whammy of having to pay for rehab and an even bigger bill for her own place, which she ultimately couldn't keep up with.
