An Edinburgh man, who recently turned 100 years old, has revealed that he still works three days a week and has no plans of slowing down.
David Flucker, retired when he was 72 but did not last long as he says that he simply has to keep his hands and mind busy.
The keen worker continues to give back to society by working out of a St Columba’s Hospice for a few days every week.

He says that he loves the atmosphere at his workplace and enjoys keeping the place tidy as well as looking like a professional shop.
In a heartwarming video with the BBC he said: “I retired when I was 72 but it wasn’t long after that I started working again because I just could not stand having nothing to do, I had to do something.
“My hands are like that, they have got to do something.
“We get donations from people and it is a case of sorting out which is good and which is bad. What can we sell and what can we not sell.
“It’s a case of keeping the shop clean, tidy and keeping it attractive for people. We try to make it not just like a hospice [shop] but a general shop, which I enjoy very much.
“In fact quite a number of people have said to us, “this is not like a hospice [shop] at all, it’s more like a Marks & Spencer.
“I enjoy coming down here because the other volunteers are all happy people, they all enjoy the job and they look forward to coming.
“I think it’s a change from an ordinary job where you’re looking forward to the five o’clock whistle going to stop, but they don’t want to stop, they just enjoy it.
“I think people should carry on doing something, keep their mind working, keep their hands working and mix with people, and helping people.
“I think that is one of the main things you do and you’ll find that if you’re helping people, people will help you.”
