100 pictures that perfectly capture the spirit of Parklife 2022

Well, Parklife 2022 certainly didn't disappoint. Back in it's usual June spot, following a September stint in 2021 - due to Covid restrictions - the two-day festival, which welcomed more than 80,000 festival goers each day, was one for the books.

This year came with plenty of surprises, including a proposal during Yung Filly's set on Saturday afternoon. Myles Goodfellow popped the question to his now fiancé Indy Geraghty after arranging it with the rapper and social media star's manager 'weeks before.'

The pair, from the Scottish Borders, who were sadly targeted for trolls online following the proposal, were later offered a free honeymoon by the festival’s boss. Sacha Lord has also pledged to give Indy and her now-fiancé Myles free entry to the festival for life.

Despite some curveballs from the weather gods, it remained - on the whole - pretty dry, but even when the rain did come, the spirits of festival goers were never dampened. Fabulous fashion statements were also made - think bucket hats galore, psychedelic two-pieces and lots and lots colour.

And then there was the music. Not one, not two, but three US rapping superstars took the stage across the weekend. On Saturday night, 50 Cent - who arrived earlier that day with the biggest security convoy that the festival has ever seen - took the stage and wasted no time in getting straight to the classics - P.I.M.P., Candy Shop, 21 Questions, Window Shopper - with a hefty looking golden ‘50’, encrusted with diamonds, hanging from his neck.

On Sunday, Houston's Megan Thee Stallion made her Parklife return and was joined on stage by a crew of both male and female dancers clad in black. While her set might not have been for the prudish, it was electrifying, with filling-rattling bombshells like Body and the truly x-rated Eat It among the bass-loaded highlights.

And then, it was the turn of Tyler, The Creator, who brought the Parklife proceedings to close with a truly astonishing set. Encompassing choreography with on-screen dancers, bucolic sunsets and classic after classic hit, he well and truly showed hip hop acts the world over how it should be done.

There were standout performances across the weekend, which you can read all about via our Saturday and Sunday reviews, plus catch up on all the news from across the weekend here. Until next time Parklife.
