10 pending free agents the Ravens should not re-sign

Baltimore faces an offseason of change after Mike Macdonald bolted for the Seahawks job. Anthony Weaver landed the Dolphins’ defensive coordinator job, and 26 players, headlined by Patrick Queen, are set to be free agents.

Justin Madubuike landed the franchise tag, leaving Baltimore -$9 million over the salary cap ahead of the early tampering period.

With an urgent offseason underway, we’re looking at ten pending free agents who shouldn’t return.

Rock Ya-Sin

Ya-Sin contributed as a reserve cornerback last season, logging 13 tackles over 14 appearances.

Melvin Gordon

Gordon was waived after he fumbled in a 17-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. It was the 19th fumble of his career, the most by a non-quarterback since 2015.

The 15th pick of the 2015 draft by the San Diego Chargers, Gordon has rushed for 6,543 yards and 56 touchdowns in nine seasons with the Chargers, Denver Broncos and Ravens.

Laquon Treadwell

Treadwell had one catch for 16 yards last season.

Dalvin Cook

Cook finished the year with 75 carries for 237 yards and no touchdowns, adding 15 catches for 78 yards on 20 targets, including the postseason.

The veteran began the year with the Jets before mutually parting ways in time to sign with the Ravens. Cook saw action in the divisional-round win over the Texans with eight carries for 23 yards but was a scratch in the AFC title game.

Devin Duvernay

The former Michigan will hit free agency on a down note after logging four catches for 18 yards on 13 games played.

Tylan Wallace can assume his role on special teams.

Brent Urban

Ronald Darby

The 30-year-old was solid in relief of Marlon Humphrey, who missed extensive time, making seven starts and appearing in all but one game.

J.K. Dobbins

Dobbins is still rehabbing the Achilles’ tear that ended his 2023 campaign in a Week 1 win over the Texans.

Dobbins was expected to return to his role as the team’s lead back last season, but he again missed significant time with an serious injury.

Malik Harrison

The 25-year-old served as a primary backup option behind Roquan Smith and Patrick Queen at interior linebacker.

Sam Mustipher

Mustipher, who had started 40 games at center with the Bears, signed with the Ravens in a reserve role.

The Owings Mills native filled in effectively for Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum for two games in September but was used sparingly after that.

Gus Edwards

Edwards led Baltimore’s running backs with a career-high 813 yards rushing and tied for fifth in the NFL with 13 rushing touchdowns. Still, he averaged a career-low 4.1 yards per attempt after averaging at least 5.0 yards per carry his previous four seasons.
