There isn’t a subject that gets NFL fans more fired up than uniforms. Regardless of the team, you’ll find fans who love their current look and others who hate them.
Still, there are several teams that are going to take the field in 2023 with uniforms that simply do not measure up with the rest of the league.
With the NFL allowing for alternate helmets in 2023, 20 teams have introduced alternates — in some form — for this season. The Arizona Cardinals are the lone team to have a complete redesign of their uniforms.
But if it was up to us (which it isn’t, sadly), these 10 teams would go into 2024 with all-new uniforms.

Philadelphia Eagles
They’d have the best uniforms in the league with a full-time switch to Kelly Green. They’re back for this season as alternates. That’s a start at least.

Tennessee Titans
I just can’t get past the gray trim on the shoulders. Fix that with more light blue, and it’s a much better uniform.

Washington Commanders
Keeping the previous color scheme was bad enough. But like the Cardinals, the entire redesign was so lazy. Don’t be surprised if new owner Josh Harris pushes for another rebranding (or uniform change) given the lack of effort that disgraced ex-owner Dan Snyder put into this one.

Seattle Seahawks
Seahawks fans have embraced the weirdness of their uniforms, and they’re not that bad. That being said, the throwback alternates are so much better. Those should be the primaries.

Carolina Panthers
The Panthers haven’t really changed uniforms in the franchise’s history. They tweaked the shade of blue for this season and added a black helmet. But they can do better than that — it’s been long enough.

Houston Texans
Such a forgettable uniform set for a forgettable franchise. Nothing about it screams “Texas!”

Denver Broncos
The Broncos have essentially not changed uniforms since 1997 (besides minor tweaks and a move to an orange primary), and you can tell. It looks like a uniform from the late 90s that was trying to be modern at the time. It just really hasn’t held up, and a redesign is well overdue. New uniforms might be coming for 2025, though.

Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars went from having an overly outlandish look in 2013 to a stripped-down uniform set in 2018. The away jerseys need more teal, and the teal jerseys need more black. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Jaguars change uniforms again in the coming seasons.

Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons could’ve hit a home run by embracing some of the franchise’s traditional looks. That’s what made the 2020 uniforms so confusing. The huge “ATL” on the chest basically ruins the jersey. The borderline illegible numbers and side paneling don’t help either.
The Falcons must’ve known right away that the gradient uniform was terrible because they only wore those once last season and scrapped them completely for 2023. The Atlanta Hawks threw out an awful redesign after a few years, and the Falcons should follow their lead.

Arizona Cardinals
Fans begged — and I mean BEGGED — the Cardinals to come up with new uniforms for years, as they sported an outdated look since 2005. With all that time, you’d think the team would come up with a cohesive look. Instead, the Cardinals introduced new uniforms for this season that looked like maybe 10 minutes of thought went into them.
It’ll be years until the Cardinals even consider another rebranding, but they desperately need to go back to the drawing board. What a disappointment.
