One Big 3 era in Brooklyn is over.
And another one is starting, thanks to the blockbuster trade between the Nets and Philadelphia 76ers that involves Ben Simmons going to Brooklyn and James Harden heading to Philly.
We should take a moment and say goodbye to the Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Harden trio that was so close — literally, the length of the toe of KD’s shoe — to perhaps winning a ring.
But here’s something kind of mind-blowing: Do you know how many games the three of them actually played together when one wasn’t injured or out for one reason or another?
Here’s your answer:
James Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving played in only 16 games together.
The Nets went 13-3 in those games (8-2 in the regular season and 5-1 in the playoffs). pic.twitter.com/DzVP9wX9Sj

Right? That tells you a lot — that this could have been an all-time team, but it just never quite came together as planned.
